Demand in DC

I was asked by The A.K.A.s frontman Mike Ski, if I'd be interested in participating in this one-day music/art event. A great concept with awesome bands and excellent artists -- of course I wanted in! It was also an opportunity to do whatever I felt like doing, and also away from the computer. Check it;

Anti-Flag, United Nations, The A.K.A.s, and Ruiner will be celebrating Inauguration Day - January 20th, 2009 - with a special performance at the Black Cat in Washington, DC.

Dubbed "Demand in DC," Chris 2 explained:

"If history has taught us anything, let it be this: We are the writers and shapers of our stories, not Presidents, prime ministers, or any politician for that matter. Regardless of the outcome of this election, it will be up to us, The People, to continue to push for the progression of human and environmental rights. This show is evidence."

Also participating are artists include: HorseBites, Charles Stanley Doll IV, MIke Ski, Mitch Clem, Erik Davison, David S. Holloway, Kencredible, Ben Lande, and many more.

Together with local DC sponsor Shirts for a Cure, DEMAND IN DC will feature "Quilts for a Cure," auctioning off four giant quilts made of the over 200 band t-shirt designs that the cancer research benefit has released since it's inception.

One of my favorite bands The AKAs and positive org Stay Vocal held a contest to design a reusable shopping bag. Well I love the AKAs' music and message and am totally down with what Stay Vocal is about, so I entered the contest and, as you see, they chose my submission. So now we can get our groceries in these cool bags. Made from recycled soda bottles and it's washable too. The AKAs will be selling these on the Vans Warped tour this summer, but Stay Vocal has them available for pre-order now.
